IAIN SNOW-PROUD
Taiya, 18, nearly 5 years
PERSONALITY Outgoing - Due to his past and growing up in a social, influential family, Iain has learned all of his 'duties' to the social world. Though he's always had a desire to be around people, Iain finds that the older he gets, the more he wants to be around others and makes friends easily. He has a way with words, perhaps a skill he's picked up from years of watching his families interactions with others, and is generally always up for a round of mead with friends. Sometimes he can be a bit too boisterous, and often wants to be the center of attention. Noble - True to his family name, Iain has a seemingly inborn desire to put others needs ahead of his own. In almost every way, he possesses his families commanding presence and high social status. When he joined the Stormcloaks, he fell slightly in this area, though the desire to be noble still flows in his veins. Hotheaded - As said previously, in almost every way Iain is noble. Unfortunately, he's always been the hothead of the family, and is easily ruled by emotions. If he's upset, you know he's upset, and he doesn't seem to have any shame in showing it. Though he would never harm someone needlessly, he does have somewhat of a short fuse, and despite his brothers and parents efforts to snub his temper, it has a way of flaring up. Along with this, is his inability to remain standing if he feels the desire to move ahead, and lacks the self discipline needed at times. Usually this can lead to problems because he can charge into situations without fully assessing the problems that doing such can cause. Plenty of times his brothers have had to physically restrain him from careless actions. Outspoken - If he feels something, he usually tells about it. Iain doesn't think it's fair that his sister should be, in his eyes, forced to marry someone she doesn't want to, and has plainly stated that before. He has no problems speaking his mind. This can get him into trouble as he sometimes doesn't have the tact that he needs to handle delicate situations, and will go ahead like a bull in a china shop. Perhaps it was because he grew up in a wealthy, influential family that he feels he has the right to speak his mind, and is quickly learning that life doesn't revolve around him after he joined the Stormcloaks. Chivalrous - His father taught him plenty of different skills while growing up, but perhaps the biggest skill he learned from his father was to be chivalrous to the opposite sex, or perhaps it's another skill that he seemed to be born with. 'Go Getter' - In Iain's mind, you can do anything if you set your mind to it, and has been told that exact thing his entire life. Years later, he now really does believe that anything can be accomplished if one sets their mind to it. That usually dictates his decisions, as he thinks that whatever he wants to do, he can do if he puts enough backbone and determination into it. MAGICAL ABILITIES Fast Healing - Heals the caster 50 points per second. Healing Hands - Heals an ally ten points per second HISTORY Iain definitely had what some might view as the perfect life. He grew up in a household that was wealthy, influential, and commanding in Solitude. With his backgrounds and outgoing personality, it would seem as if he could have the world, even if he wasn't the first born, and thus would not be the heir. While in school, he was respected by the other children - if not respect for him, than for the respect of his two older brothers -. Life growing up didn't seem to have any challenges, even with the war that surrounded everyone. His father had always wanted to train his boys to be able to fight like any true Nord, and so he allowed his sons to be trained by the military. At a very tender age he wandered after his older brothers on their way to target practice. When he made the brag that he could shoot just as well as they could, the second eldest passed him a bow and told him which target to hit. Though it was purely beginners luck, he managed to hit the target presented. From then on, everyone said that he had inherited the Snow-Proud marksmanship, and he was presented his own, specially crafted bow from his father. Dedication was how he grew in his skill, along with the motivation to become as good as each of his older brothers were. It took years, but he mastered that skill, along with finding out other skills that he was accomplished at, including the mastery of duel swordsmanship. Family was everything to Iain growing up. Though he always wished to be like his older brothers and strived to be just as 'manly' as they were, he also had a special spot for his younger sister, just as his other two brothers had, and somehow always fought with his older sister, who was interested in fashion, marriage to a wealthy man and things he had never been. They adored their younger sister though. So much so, that they allowed her to do anything that they did, including play war while their mothers attention was focused on something else, or allowing her to tag along while they practiced their skills with a bow and arrow, oddly happening the same way it had with him, where they simply placed a bow in her arms for a good laugh, and figured out that she also had the Snow-Proud mastery with the weapon. That led into her downing a deer for their fathers important friends. Though no one spoke of it being her that had accomplished the feat, Iain glowed with pride, puffing out his chest as if it had actually been him that had taken down the deer. In a way, he supposed it had been, since he had helped his sister with mastering archery. Iain, much like his other siblings, was sent to the bards college to gain any skills he would need to succeed in life later on. With a mind eager to learn and the motivation to do so, Iain excelled in most of the things he sets his mind on, and learned to play both the lute and the drum very well, though his sister surpasses him in abilities with a lute. Despite mastering many things, Iain still felt as if he were in the shadows of his two older brothers. In the same time as he felt that way, Violet started to get proposals of marriage. Life moves on for people, but Iain wasn't sure he liked the changes. He had much rathered his sister when she had a bowstring pulled back and was sighting down her prey, to the sophisticated young lady that was...well, beautiful. Hardly any time later Violet went on what he referred to as her own execution, or her journey to find a husband. Iain had never been able to come to grips with feeling as if she was simply selling herself to please her family. A few weeks after she and their mother left, his life changed. Riding his stallion on the outskirts of Solitude one day changed him in some aspects. Iain came across the Thalmor brutally executing a group of Stormcloak soldiers bound in chains. Having never been a part of the war that raged around him, even though he was trained in every way as a soldier, he was shocked by what he saw. War stories had always been a favorite of his siblings and him, but it hadn't become real until that moment. Perhaps it was at that moment that he had started to hate the Thalmor and question the Imperials. How could anyone in Skyrim stand by and watch the Thalmor destroy the lives of their kinsmen? It angered him, and so he had a severe argument with his father about various subjects, including the war and how he could stand there while the Nords were being slaughtered, along with his own sister and why his father thought she had to get married at a young age. Angry still, Iain took some possessions, his palomino stallion, and left Solitude, setting out to join the Stormcloak rebellion and bring justice to the Nords. On his way out, his two brothers and father tried to talk some sense into him, but he was firm in his decision, stubbornly refusing any advice that they told him while they begged him to reconsider. Muleheadedly he continued on, riding for days until he found a Stormcloak camp and was directed to the man he needed to see in order to join the ranks. His skill could be quickly seen, and after a few short months he became a scout for the rebellion. Though he didn't regret his decision, he does regret the lack of communication with his family, and sent a letter to his sister to tell her what had happened. The way of life he now lives is much different than what he's accustomed to, but he goes on without complaint, hoping that one day they will be free from the Thalmor's rule and that one day the Nords will regain what has been lost to them. For Skyrim, he fights. | [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style,border-radius: 0px 0px 20px 20px;] Character Name. Iain Snow-Proud Age. 21 Race. Nord Sexuality. Definitely Heterosexual Faction, Army, or Allegiance. Stormcloak Occupation. Stormcloak Scout Werewolf or Vampire. N/A Major Skills. One Handed - Though Iain has the muscle and the skill to wield a two handed sword, he prefers the lighter one handed swords, feeling that he has more agility and he can move swifter instead of being weighed down with a heavy sword, harder to accurately control. In a moment of battle, an instant could be the difference between life and death. Dual Wielding - Because he generally sticks to one handed, to get the power that he could have with a two handed weapon, Iain dual wields, or holds two swords simultaneously. While this potentially doubles damage output, it also removes the ability to block any attacks. Archery - Despite having a feel for dual wielding, like his brothers, Iain has always had a natural talent with a bow. From a very early age he could be seen with his older brothers, bravely attempting to do everything they did, wanting to prove that he could do everything they could, despite being younger. Though he couldn't do that while he was younger, as a young man he has stood up to their abilities and can definitely hold his own when it comes to his brothers in this area. He keeps a bow with him constantly and uses it in situations where he isn't quite so up close and personal as he is with his two one handed swords. Speech - Iain has definitely always had a way with words, which can largely be attributed to his background and growing up in an influential family. Always a self confident young man, Iain seems to have a natural boyish charm about him. This can be helpful in many situations, as he can talk his way out of many situations that he would otherwise have problems with. It always helps in his life as a Stormcloak scout and he seems to have no trouble in persuading people to give him information or to do things. Heavy Armor - Because he lacks the ability to block while wielding duel weapons, Iain usually wears heavy armor to be able to take the hits that would otherwise injure him. He has the build to be able to wear this armor and still move with ease while still staying protected from injury. Restoration - At times Iain cannot help but be injured from his unique way of fighting. To counter this, Iain focuses almost all his magical abilities on restoration instead of destruction, and can heal himself when he needs to. Lute and Drum - Sent with his sister to the college of the Bards, Iain picked up the ability to play the lute and the drums with mastery, though his sister Violet could always play the lute better than he could. In different Stormcloak camps, if anyone has a lute or a drum, they usually ask for him to play it, and he gladly accepts, often regretting not having his own finely crafted instruments, still sitting in his bedroom in his house. Along with this skill, is his rich voice that he can use to sing along with the songs. Weapons, Armor, and Belongings. Ebony Swords - With his family influential and quite wealthy, Iain has obtained a set of matching ebony weapons. Because he likes to duel wield, he has two ebony one handed swords, which he uses to attack at a higher rate, even if they don't do as much damage as the more awkward two handed. Ebony Bow - Matched with his blades, Iain has a finely crafted ebony bow that he keeps on him at all times. Having grown to fulfill the family legacy as masters with this certain weapon type, Iain can use a bow with deadly accuracy. Until he joined the Stormcloaks, he had never used his skill for any sort of real destruction. Ebony Dagger - Kept sheathed on his hips, Iain keeps a dagger on his person after a fellow Stormcloak warned him to keep something as a last ditch effort in battle. Though he only usually pulls it out as a last resort, this small weapon can do quite the damage. Steel Heavy Armor - Because he needs to counterbalance his inability to block with his duel wielding, Iain wears heavy armor to protect himself. The wilderness is tougher than it looks, with almost everything out there waiting to chew your head off. He almost never wears a helmet, and prefers the wind to his face than the extra protection it would bring him. Horse - Iain has a palomino stallion named Zavier, bought as a colt from Solitude's breeder and raised by Iain himself. Zavier is now a sturdy four year old stallion and is faithful to Iain. He looks like this. |
